About this event

The TFEL project invites you to join in a webinar on the state of social work field education in Africa. The facilitators will share the research results using a PowerPoint presentation.

After the presentation, there will be a panel discussion to provide a commentary on the findings by Clement Dlamini (University of Eswatini), Adugna Abebe (University of Gondar), and Phyllis Muraguri (Association for Social Work Education in Kenya).

A key finding is the need to develop a field instructor supervisor training module. This webinar provides an opportunity for questions, critique, and feedback to generate collaborative interest toward writing a new grant proposal to develop this new field education resource with your support.

Facilitators: Julie Drolet (TFEL Director, University of Calgary), Jill Hanley (TFEL Co-Investigator, McGill University), Emmanuel Chilanga (Ass. Professor, University of Northern British Columbia), Godfrey Makoha (Ph.D. Candidate, McGill University), Kamal Khatiwada (TFEL Mentorship and Training Coordinator, University of Calgary), Yassannah Nurudeen (Ph.D. Candidate, University of Calgary), Uzo Anucha (TFEL Partner, York University).

Organized by

TFEL is a partnership project that aims to better prepare the next generation of social workers in Canada by creating training and mentoring opportunities for students, developing and mobilizing innovative and promising field education practices, and improving the integration of research and practice in field education.
